The epidemic situation in Hong Kong continues to be severe. Hongkong Post said today (22nd) that due to the initial diagnosis of the new type of coronavirus by two postmen, the Central Post Office (including the iPostal Station) will be closed today and tomorrow, and the mail collection counters will reopen at 1:00 pm today. The PO Box lobby remains open as usual.
Hongkong Post stated that the two postmen were responsible for internal work and receiving mail at the counter. They worked behind the counter partition and maintained a proper social distance with customers.
The body temperature is normal during work, and a mask is also worn.
After being informed of the above incident, Hongkong Post has arranged for the staff working with the two postmen to be tested for the virus, and thoroughly cleaned and disinfected all facilities and mail items in the bureau in accordance with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health.
Members of the public can use the postal service at the nearest Sheung Wan Post Office (1/F, Western Telephone Building, 322-324 Des Voeux Road Central) or Wyndham Street Post Office (G/F, Ho Shanney Building, 69 Wyndham Street).
If you need to send bulk mail, the public can go to the bulk posting counter of the Central Mail Centre (1 Wang Chin Street, Kowloon Bay).
