A person has been injured in an explosion in a fire at the Marathon Petroleum refinery in Louisiana, USA.
The NBC network quoted the American authorities as saying today that the fire broke out after the explosion, in which a contract worker was injured, noting that the fire was brought under control and all the employees and contracted workers with them were counted.
The authorities stated that investigations are underway to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
The blast occurred in an area known as Cancer Alley, which stretches 130 miles along the Mississippi River, where residents face a high risk of cancer due to high levels of toxic pollution.
