As a software company, SAP works in an attractive industry.

However, according to a recent survey, many employees are dissatisfied with their salaries.

Walldorf - When it comes to the economy in Baden-Württemberg, the software company SAP definitely plays a key role.

The Walldorf-based group is known far beyond the borders of the south-west and is a popular destination for employees in the IT industry, as BW24* reports.

Recently, however, there was rumbling in the workforce.

SAP employees have just complained about the low salary increase in 2022. Last year, many were not happy with the value of 1.2 percent at the time.

As the

Handelsblatt

reports, the problems at the software company seem even more profound.

Apparently there is a fundamental dissatisfaction with the level of salaries.

Salaries at SAP: dissatisfaction affects all income groups

There are a total of five income groups at the software company from Walldorf.

SAP employees earn different salaries from newcomers to managers, but they are quite impressive.

According to the Handelsblatt, the "T1 Level Associate" group starts with an income of between 30,000 and 55,000 euros per year.

However, only five percent of the employees work at this first level.

According to the salary survey now published by Liste Pro Mitdetermination, almost two-thirds of employees in income brackets two and three are dissatisfied with their income.

They consider their salary to be "not at all" or "to a small extent" appropriate in relation to performance.

The survey was conducted last November and December.

According to the Handelsblatt

, trade union secretary Türker Baloglu described the situation

as “precarious”.

SAP: Dissatisfaction with salaries, especially in middle-income groups

At 64 percent, income groups T2 and T3 are particularly dissatisfied with their salary.

As a specialist or senior, the salary ranges from 50,000 euros to 100,000 euros per year.

But even in the top income brackets, which together make up half of SAP's workforce, there are still employees who don't agree with their salary.

At T4 level, SAP employees earn between 80,000 and 145,000 euros.

At the top are the senior managers or chief experts at the T5 level, who earn an annual salary of 110,000 to 200,000 euros.

Among Chief Experts, 40 percent are dissatisfied with their salary.

Senior managers show the lowest level of dissatisfaction with income at just 29 percent.

Dissatisfaction with salary: SAP criticizes employee survey

According to the

Handelsblatt

, the software company itself has criticized the survey among employees.

SAP describes the survey as "questionable" and doubts the representation, since it was mainly employees close to the union who took part.

As the Handelsblatt reports, the results of the survey are quite meaningful.

With 3,583 out of a total of 24,500 German employees, 80 percent more took part than in a similar survey in 2020. In addition, the unions at SAP had few supporters anyway, which is why the distortion accused by the company is likely to be rather small.

There were already initial reactions to the results of the survey on Facebook.

While someone wrote sarcastically: "Our politicians also have to work on the side with the pittance of around 15,000 euros," another user reacted pragmatically: "Well, you have to go somewhere else.

If you get more than that.

But one or the other also gambled.” *BW24 is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
