Two people were killed and three others wounded when an explosive device exploded targeting the convoy of the President of the Somali region of Puntland, Said Abdullahi Dini, in the northeast of the country.
"Abdullahi Dini was on his way to Bossaso, the commercial capital of the province, when an explosive device planted on the road exploded as his convoy was passing," a local police official told AFP, noting that he was not hurt.
For its part, the Somali Al-Shabab movement, linked to the terrorist Al-Qaeda network, claimed responsibility for the attack.
