Federal government wants to relax corona travel rules before the Easter holidays

Many families and people who love to travel are already planning their holidays for Easter 2022. The federal government is planning to relax the Corona travel rules, as it is now said.
During the Easter holidays*, many Germans long for a sunny family holiday or relaxation away from their own four walls.
Holidaymakers should therefore be happy to hear that the federal government is planning to relax the corona travel rules.

draft amendment
, countries should only be designated as high-risk areas if a corona mutant is rampant there that is more dangerous than the omicron variant, such as the delta variant, the newspaper reported citing the draft.
The corresponding changes should take place on March 4th, as a spokeswoman for the ministry announced on Sunday.
The cabinet meeting is scheduled for Wednesday.

According to the newspaper, the change is intended to eliminate the obligation to register and quarantine
for Omikron countries when returning to Germany

If unvaccinated children return from areas that are still considered high-risk areas, they should be able to test themselves freely in the future.
According to the report, the obligation for all non-vaccinated persons to present a negative test upon entry should remain in place, even if they return from non-risk areas.

So far, the obligation to digitally register for entry applies to returns from high-risk areas.
In addition, all travelers returning need a 3G ID.
There is also a 10-day quarantine for people who have not been vaccinated and who have not recovered, which can be ended with a negative test on the fifth day at the earliest.
