The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court today (Tuesday) ordered a delay in the Salem family's eviction from their home in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem until a new decision is made.
The family has NIS 25,000 as a deposit to secure the owner's expenses from the postponement of the eviction in case the petition is rejected.
The evacuation of the family provoked a wave of protest in the neighborhood against the evacuation.
In early February, the execution announced that the 11-year-old Salem family would be deported from their homes under a flexible eviction order that would allow police to evacuate and deport the family at an unexpected time during March.
Instead of the family, Jonathan Yosef, a right-wing man and number 2 on Aryeh King's list in the Jerusalem City Council, is expected to enter their home.
