A month since the fire that destroyed objects and memories of four generations, Yaffa is still hospitalized for surgery and rehabilitation.

Yaffa Resheti, 72, a mother of four children and grandmother of 17 grandchildren, has been hospitalized for about a month at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital after she was injured in a fire that broke out in her home in the Nachlaot neighborhood of Jerusalem.

On January 27, during a snowy day in the capital, there was a power outage in Yaffa's area of residence.

She contacted her son Ofer, who came to help his mother who lives alone and took out of the warehouse an oil stove that caught fire and caused the apartment to burn all its contents.

He hurried to rescue his mother from the burning apartment, and during the rescue she fell and injured her shoulder.

Ofer himself was anesthetized and respirated for about a week after inhaling large amounts of smoke.

Both suffer from third-degree burns and to this day undergo skin grafts.

The small apartment that burned down had clothes, pictures, books and all the memories of the family members, four generations of whom grew up in it.

Adina, a close friend of the Reshti family: "Yaffa is still hospitalized at Hadassah Ein Kerem after three skin transplants, and is expected to have shoulder surgery and a long rehabilitation. She has leg burns and it will take more time for her to be able to walk and function. "Make an electrical, water, plumbing system, clean all the walls and apply a special substance to neutralize the smell of smoke left in the apartment. Also, the apartment should be made accessible to a situation where you can maneuver in it on your own."

According to Adina, "It was a house that hosted countless people. Yaffa would prepare quantities of food and an exemplary host. Her late husband, Arie Resheti, was a tour guide in Nachlaot, and the family still maintains the synagogue in the neighborhood.

The apartment that burned down completely had no insurance, so there is a campaign to raise a sum of money that we can use to renovate the apartment and buy everything the house needs.

We will be very happy if the public can help us. "

For donations to the bank account of Yaffa Reshti: International Bank, Branch 012, account number 105260495.
