The DWD meanwhile criticizes the wrong winter forecasts of alleged "experts".

It's amazing how warm this February turned out.
The month is 4.5 degrees warmer than the average climate for the years 1961 to 1990. This is really a significant upward deviation.
The bottom line is that the entire winter so far has been 3 degrees warmer than the average climate.”

Although many hours of sunshine can be expected from Sunday, there is a small catch: the temperatures remain low.
It even gets chilly at night.
However, that is normal.
"It's only the end of February and then clear nights also bring light night frosts.
In addition, a fresh easterly wind is blowing and that makes everything feel colder anyway,” says weather expert Jung.
