Farewell poem and quiz: director Doris Fähr leaves the Vhs Eching

Doris Fähr was the head of the Vhs Eching for nine years.

The manager is now leaving the facility.

She was officially adopted by her colleagues and companions.

- "We can't just let you go like that!" This sentence could have been the unwritten motto of the farewell party for the outgoing Vhs managing director Doris Fähr, who is turning her back on the community after nine years at the head of the Echingen adult education facility.

As the future head of the adult education center in the district of Erding, she is looking forward to this new challenge, but is leaving her previous job with the proverbial laughing and crying eye.

Colleagues wrote a poem to say goodbye

"I always really enjoyed my work for the Vhs in Eching, I had a great team that helped to come up with and implemented many crazy or at least unusual ideas, and a Vhs board of directors who always trusted, benevolently and supported our work has brought,” is her gratifying summary.

After Fähr's last Echinger Vhs board meeting, the team, those responsible and companions took the opportunity to say "goodbye" to the 56-year-old at a small celebration, to express their appreciation and to wish them all the best.

And even to Fähr's surprise, there was a veritable farewell performance for her.

Her colleagues Ulrike Brandstetter and Andrea Hofmeier paid tribute to her in a self-written, personal poem.

Review the time in a quiz

With a Powerpoint quiz devised by Sybille Schmidtchen, 2nd Vhs chairman, all guests were able to look back on Fähr's work and cast enlightening highlights on the diverse educational work of their Vhs.

Interesting tendencies could also be seen, above all a rapid development with regard to online offers: In 2018, 60 courses were on offer, of which only one came about.

In 2021, three years later, the portfolio included 377 online formats, 239 of which actually took place.

Answering the knowledge and estimation questions turned out to be tricky.

However, with one or the other support from the auditorium, Fähr fought very bravely: For every correct or almost correct answer, Vhs chairman and mayor Sebastian Thaler presented the outgoing Vhs managing director with a rose – and there was a lavish one Strauss out.
