Presidential 2022: Valérie Pécresse ready to debate with Zemmour and Le Pen

The presidential contender considers that her nationalist opponents will have their 500 signatures. Becoming like her candidates for the queen election, the discussion would then be possible.

It's a step she hadn't taken yet.

While the question of the organization of the debates of the first round between all the candidates for the presidential election agitates the campaign and remains nebulous, that of the televised contests between the leaders of the right or nationalist could well succeed.

Guest of BFMTV on Wednesday evening, Valérie Pécresse left the door open to a possible debate with Marine Le Pen and Éric Zemmour.

Faced with Jacques Chirac's speech on the evening of April 21, 2002, announcing that he would not debate with the person who had qualified in the second round - namely Jean-Marie Le Pen -, the right-wing contender said she was ready to cross swords with its nationalist competitors in the coming weeks.

A change of foot for the LR leader who refused until then to take part in such media performances.

Today, I am convinced that both will have them.

I consider that the time for debate has come

In a bad political patch, Valérie Pécresse sees herself competing in the polls by the two nationalists, Marine Le Pen and Éric Zemmour.

If she remains in a pocket handkerchief with these, she has been picking up slightly for a few days.

The LR candidate being placed around 14-15% of voting intentions, she undoubtedly hopes that these performances could give her a little breath of fresh air, as was the case during the LR Congress campaign when the debates had allowed her to beat all opponents to the post.
