Since January 31 last year, the UK has opened BNO holders to the BNO Visa (BNO visa) channel to live in the UK and then apply for immigration. The UK Home Office today (24th) released the latest number of BNO Visa applicants, as of the fourth last year. In the quarter, 15,600 people applied to stay in the UK through the BNO, down from 24,000 in the third quarter, while the cumulative number of applications for the entire programme increased to 104,000.
In terms of approved numbers, in the fourth quarter of last year, a total of 18,600 applications for BNO Visas from overseas individuals in the UK were approved, and the number of BNO Visa approvals for the entire programme in the UK overseas and in mainland China rose to 75,961 and 21,096, respectively, or a total of 9.7%. Thousands of visas approved.
The number of BNO visa applications has exceeded 100,000.
The Home Office said that, as expected, 66% of approved BNO Visas were issued to holders of BNO passports or HKSAR passports, or holders of both passports. 72% hold Chinese passports.
In addition, a total of 8,350 BNO or SAR passport holders were granted permission to remain in the UK under a visa privileged entry permit (LOTR) last year.
First visa refusal in the fourth quarter
The British government provided the BNO Visa channel to reside in the UK on January 31 last year. There were 34,300 applications in the first quarter and 30,600 in the second quarter.
In the fourth quarter, a total of 79 overseas BNO Visa applications were rejected, and one domestic application was rejected. This was the first time on record that an application was rejected.
