North Rhine-Westphalia's Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU) has announced aid supplies for Ukraine, which has been attacked by Russia.
It is currently being examined which aid supplies could be put together quickly, he said on Thursday in Düsseldorf.
In addition, he is certain: "If people fleeing war seek help in Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia is ready."
Düsseldorf – Coordination with the federal government is currently being sought.
“We will support the cities and municipalities responsible for taking in refugees.
All levels of government must work together here.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a military operation in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions on Thursday night.
Numerous solidarity rallies and campaigns for Ukraine are already planned in NRW.

30,000 people with Ukrainian nationality lived in NRW, said Wüst.
"We have full solidarity with you and the people of Ukraine." He had already discussed the situation with the chairmen of the parliamentary groups.
