Russia exchanged letters of ratification of treaties of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
Sputnik news agency quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement today that the ministry’s headquarters witnessed the exchange of letters of ratification of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between Russia and the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics, which was signed on February 21, 2022.
Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks with First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People's Republic Sergey Berezada and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lugansk People's Republic Vladislav Denigo.
It is noteworthy that Russian President Vladimir Putin announced last Monday the recognition of the sovereignty of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
