Russia vetoed the UN Security Council today and blocked a draft resolution condemning the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
Russia Today reported that 11 countries voted in favor of the draft resolution, while 3 countries abstained and Russia, which has the right of veto, voted against it.
The draft resolution condemned the Russian military operation in Ukraine and considered it a "violation of international law" and demanded Moscow to withdraw its forces from Ukraine. It also condemned the Russian recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
It is noteworthy that the draft resolution was submitted by the United States and a number of other countries.
