The Russian Defense Ministry announced that during the ongoing military operation in Ukraine, Russian forces destroyed 211 military facilities of the Ukrainian forces and confiscated a large number of weapons handed over by Western countries to the Kiev authorities during the past few months.
In a new statement this evening about the progress of the Russian military operation, the ministry pointed out that among the seized NATO weapons were the American "Javelin" anti-tank missile systems and the British "NLAW" systems.
The statement stated that "the Russian armed forces managed to destroy 211 military facilities, including 17 command posts and communications centers for the Ukrainian forces, 19 anti-aircraft missile systems and 39 radar stations," noting that "six combat aircraft, a helicopter and 5 drones were shot down and 67 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles were destroyed." 16 multiple rocket launchers and 87 units of special military vehicles.
The statement indicated that the forces of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics, with Russian coverage, continued their advance on the positions of the Ukrainian forces and penetrated 21 kilometers deep and captured the Trekezbinka region as well as the Volnovakh region.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced earlier today that the Russian military forces carried out a successful air landing operation yesterday in the Gostomel Airport area on the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, and took control of this airport.
