This evening, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the entry of Russian forces into the city of Melitopol, located on the coast of the Sea of Azov in southern Ukraine.
"After carrying out the landing operation near the Ukrainian town of Azovskoye, the Russian units headed to the city of Melitopol and entered it without meeting any resistance," the RIA Novosti news agency quoted the ministry as saying in a statement.
Earlier today, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its forces had destroyed 211 Ukrainian military sites, including command centers and radar stations, and downed 6 planes, one helicopter and 5 Ukrainian army marches.
