Severe accident in the south:
A man in his 40s was killed in an accident near Beer Ganim last night (Friday to Saturday).
Another wounded man, also in his 40s, is hospitalized in critical condition.
Police have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident.
According to MDA, the men were hit by a vehicle apparently while stopping to replace a wheel on the side of the road. The dead man was rescued with no signs of life, after being trapped under the vehicle.
Ido Navon, a senior medic at MDA, said: "When we arrived, we saw a 40-year-old man lying on the road, and another vehicle under which another pedestrian was trapped was nearby.
We rescued him with the help of people who were at the scene and performed medical tests.
He was without signs of life and within a short time we had to determine his death.
The other wounded man was unconscious and suffered a severe multi-system injury.
We provided him with life-saving medical care that included the soul, and evacuated him to the hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the offending vehicle, a young man in his twenties, was examined and did not need treatment. "
