Today, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia Aslan Bzania signed decrees recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
“In accordance with the spirit of our friendship with the peoples of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics and our considerations that it is necessary to share in their future destiny, decrees were signed today recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics,” Bzania was quoted by Sputnik as saying in a statement reported by the press service of the Abkhaz presidency.
Last Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the decrees recognizing Donetsk and Luhansk and announced the launch of a military operation to maintain peace in them at the request of the two republics.
