They are leaving their country fleeing Putin's war.

Most had to leave close relatives behind.

Men between the ages of 18 and 60 are not allowed to leave the country after the Ukrainian government's general mobilization.

You should fight.

This woman from Kiev was on vacation in western Ukraine with her children and sister when the Russian invasion began.

Out of fear, they decided to leave the country without their husbands.

Refugees from Kiev:

»My mother, my husband's mother, all my brothers are still there.

We try to reach them, but they are in the bunkers or subway stations.

I'm so scared

Also for my colleagues who stayed in Kiev.«

More than ten thousand people fled to Romania on Thursday, reports the Romanian Minister of the Interior.

In total, more than 100,000 Ukrainians are said to be fleeing from the soldiers of a country where many have acquaintances and friends themselves.

Refugees from Kiev:

»It is a terrible tragedy.

Putin is a madman.

He doesn't understand what he's doing.

And many in Russia don't understand it either.

I have relatives there.

They don't think it's an invasion, they think it's about protecting Russians from anyone in Ukraine.

It saddens me that so many people don't know what's really going on.«

Iryna, refugee from Ivano-Frankivsk:

»My parents called me from Kiev at six.

They said: ›The war is here.‹ I live in Ivano-Frankivsk and even here they bombed the airport at seven in the morning.

We packed and drove to the border.

With two small children.«

Refugees from Lviv:

"We're here with the whole family.

We even have the pets with us.

We couldn't leave them behind.

We were greeted very nicely.

Although it took a long time at the border, we have no regrets about coming.«

Meanwhile, rocket hits and fighting continue to be reported from many parts of Ukraine.

The queues at the border crossings are likely to get longer.
