One day after Russian troops attacked Ukraine, more and more federal politicians were commenting on what was happening.

Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach (SPD) has diagnosed a personality disorder in Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The actions of the Kremlin chief revealed "narcissistic needs for recognition" that are unacceptable, said the doctor in Berlin.

The world actually has "better things to do than deal with Putin's great power fantasies," said Lauterbach.

»Putin endangers people in a situation where we are in the middle of the corona pandemic.«

Lauterbach expresses his sympathy to children

Medical professionals typically define narcissism as a personality disorder characterized by an extreme need for attention and approval.

This is often accompanied by a self-absorbed or arrogant demeanor.

"I find the events disturbing and sad in every respect," Lauterbach said of the attack on Ukraine ordered by Putin.

"Someone here has broken international law in a criminal way - namely Vladimir Putin," said the SPD politician.

Lauterbach expressed his sympathy in particular to the children in the country.

Their childhood would be interrupted and they would have to fear for their own life and that of their parents.

"It's something no child deserves, and it's just awful."

Following an order from President Vladimir Putin, Russian troops began invading Ukraine on Thursday morning.

The Russian troops are currently advancing in the direction of Kiev, among other things.

There are first reports of explosions in the Ukrainian capital.

The Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany, Andriy Melnyk, has accused the German government of having already given up his country and preventing tough sanctions against Russia.
