250,000 euros damage: investigative team is looking for speed camera arsonists

Arsonists set fire to speed camera trailers twice in February.

The Kripo Weilheim has now set up an investigation group and is asking witnesses for information.

The damage is immense.

- As reported by the police headquarters in Oberbayern Süd, two so-called speed camera trailers caught fire on the night of February 2nd and 3rd and on the evening of February 18th.

Estimated damage to property was more than 250,000 euros.

The Weilheim criminal police took over the investigation and set up an investigation team.

In the night of February 2nd to 3rd, 2022, a "speed camera trailer" (semi-stationary speed measuring system) parked on Karwendelstrasse in Lenggries was damaged by a fire.

The damage to the trailer that occurred here is estimated at around 7,500 euros. 

Damage is estimated at 250,000 euros

On the evening of February 18, 2022, at around 10:50 p.m., another "speed camera trailer" parked on Tölzer Straße in Greiling was damaged by a fire.

The fire was quickly extinguished by local firefighters.

The damage caused to the trailer is estimated at around 250,000 euros.

Investigators believe the two crimes are related

An investigation group was set up by the Kripo Weilheim to clarify the crime.

Based on the initial findings from the investigation, the investigators are assuming intentional arson and a connection between the two acts.
