Members of the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus and its countryside arrested 13 drug dealers and promoters and were able to confiscate more than 9 kilograms of hashish and 23,900 narcotic pills.
The Ministry of Interior stated, in a statement that SANA received a copy of, that the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus and its countryside, during the period extending from the 6th of last month to the first of this month, managed to arrest 13 persons who were dealers and promoters of narcotic substances, and that two of the arrested persons were arrested and they possessed a quantity of 4 Kilograms of hashish, 3500 narcotic pills and 75 grams of narcotic crystal and they are promoting them with 3 electronic scales. The statement pointed out that by investigating all those arrested, 13 people confessed to possessing, using, distributing and trading narcotic drugs, noting that efforts are still continuing to combat the drug phenomenon and prosecute all those involved in it.
