Various technical services and products in the field of cybersecurity and electronic systems presented by the first international exhibition for security and safety (SAS Expo 2022), whose activities were launched yesterday on the fairgrounds of the exhibition city in Damascus, with the participation of 66 local and foreign scientific companies and institutions specialized in information technology.

Head of the Promotion Department at the Syrian Post, Mai Zeidan, confirmed in a statement to SANA that information technology has allowed the provision of innovative services to customers, indicating that the department displays a number of them in its pavilion, the most important of which is opening citizens' accounts online through Bemo Bank, the service of delivering the salaries of retirees to their homes, and the payment of compensation for the laid-off.

Dr. Ahmed Idris of the General Authority for Remote Sensing considered that modern technology has provided more capabilities in the field of data analysis, reading and analyzing aerial images via satellite or other means, enabling it to set up databases that help take the necessary measures to ward off the risk of disasters, as well as launching a platform Monitoring the fires that helped stave off many fires last year by producing fire index maps and identifying areas with a high index to deal with them and prepare to limit their spread.

Engineer Ibrahim Rahma from the Faculty of Informatics Engineering at Damascus University said: Our goal in participating is to present students’ distinguished projects from various disciplines, especially those related to software engineering, networks and artificial intelligence, in addition to trying to collect data from participating companies about training opportunities they have.

From the pavilion of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Damascus University, Engineer Rola Kayal said: We participate in 11 projects from the departments of medical engineering, electronics, electrical energy, computers and robotic projects with the aim of showing these projects and introducing them as viable as a product and transferring them to the labor market.

The Syrian Virtual University is also participating in the exhibition, where Mireille Harchaoui from the university indicated that they introduce visitors to the scientific specializations at the university, in addition to introducing the Lifelong Learning Center, while Milad Naddaf from the Genius Club for Robotics and Programming said that they provide robotic projects to provide security and safety for migratory birds and animals fleeing from Natural disasters such as fires, in addition to projects for sorting solid waste, sensors for wind turbines, and a project to monitor the airspace.

From the Justice and Ihsan Center for International Commercial and Economic Arbitration in Damascus, the director of the center, Muhammad Yassin Al-Ghadban, mentioned the importance of spreading the culture of arbitration among the economic actors participating in the exhibition and helping them resolve disputes through arbitration.

Regarding the Malaysian participation in the exhibition, Dr. Bahaa Al-Farfour, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Damascus Foundation for Educational Consultations and International Exhibitions in Malaysia, spoke that the Foundation is concerned with teaching Arabic to non-native speakers through digital communication and teleconferences, indicating that the Foundation will have wider participations during the upcoming exhibitions and seeks to expand its work In syria .

The representative of the Arab Institute for Safety Sciences, which includes three branches in Egypt, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, Engineer Kamy Al-Ali, explained that it is their first participation in Syria with the aim of expanding the Institute’s spread and introducing the Syrian market to its services in the field of international safety codes.

The exhibition, which is organized by the Mashhadani International Group for Exhibitions and Conferences, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Technology, will continue until tomorrow evening, accompanied by lectures and specialized workshops in the fields of security and information technology, and presentations of ways to prevent risks and deal with accidents, with the participation of experts and researchers specialized in these fields.
