A man freaked out during a police check in Munich on Saturday.

At the Ostbahnhof, the 34-year-old bit an officer in the arm.

Munich

A police officer was attacked during an identity check in Munich on Saturday, February 26.

The federal police officer concerned was on duty with colleagues at the Ostbahnhof in Munich*-Haidhausen in the evening around 8.30 p.m. and carried out identity checks there.

A data comparison with a 34-year-old Slovak citizen resulted in a residence determination.

When the officers asked the man about it, he became aggressive and verbally threatened the officers.

The police then gave the 34-year-old a place reference, which he did not comply with despite repeated requests from the emergency services.

Eventually, officers grabbed the Slovak's arms to lead him out of the station.

However, the 34-year-old defended himself vigorously and tried to wriggle out of the officers' grips.

When he threw himself on the ground to shake off the officers, he was tied up by them and then taken to the service vehicle.

Although now restricted in mobility, the man remained extremely aggressive and tried to kick and bite the officers.

Eventually, he succeeded in the latter, biting a 22-year-old police officer on the forearm.

Nothing is known about the severity of the injury.

The young officer then went to a hospital to determine the degree of injury.

The 34-year-old, who was significantly drunk at 1.7 per mille, could only be brought to the Munich East police station after his bite attack with considerable effort.

He remained aggressive throughout and repeatedly made threats against the emergency services.

On the instructions of the public prosecutor's office, the man was released after a blood test and the appointment of a lawyer.

He now faces charges of insult, threats, assault and resisting law enforcement officials, and assault.

Since the homeless Slovakian, who has already been investigated by the police several times, was also out and about without a mouth and nose cover, he was reported to the responsible authorities for violating the Infection Protection Act.
