China successfully launched today a Long March 4C rocket to put a new satellite into space for the purpose of Earth observation.
The missile was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the northwest of the country, where the LSR01B satellite was sent to a predetermined orbit, which will be used to monitor the geological environment of the Earth, landslides and earthquakes, Xinhua said.
This mission represents the 408th flight of the Long March carrier rocket series.
It is noteworthy that the Chinese "LSR 01" consists of two satellites equipped with a synthetic aperture radar, and the first satellite was sent into space on January 26.
In turn, the China National Space Administration said that the two satellites will undertake the missions of providing data to support the Earth's resources and mapping regarding forests, disaster prevention and rescue work, and greatly enhance the rapid response capabilities in the event of a natural disaster.
