Cultural and artistic activities attract children and young people within workshops hosted by the Cultural Center in the village of Kafram in the western Homs countryside, with the aim of developing their talents and creativity and investing their time in useful things.
Jumana Ishaq, head of the cultural center in Kfaram, indicated in a statement to SANA that the center receives children and young people every Sunday to participate in various activities, including reading, music, drawing, handicrafts, recycling, and clay and ceramic workshops.
She indicated that children are classified into two categories according to their ages to choose activities that suit their interests and encourage the talented among them, as between 75 and 100 children and adolescents participate in each workshop in cooperation with the plastic artist Farid Wassouf and the art education teacher at the village school Nermin Hourani.
The artist Wassouf, the supervisor of the drawing, clay and ceramic workshops, explained that he has been working voluntarily with the center for two years, trying to collect talents in his village of Kfaram.
As for the teacher, Hourani, who is also a supervisor in the workshops, she indicated that her selection of the children and young people participating in the workshops is mostly from the second grade of primary education to secondary education, where the necessary materials for the workshops are secured from the center, indicating that support and attention is provided to the talented and distinguished, encouraging them and developing their talents.
