About 10,000 Jews and Israelis will immigrate to Israel from Ukraine in the coming weeks, government officials told Zvika Klein, Jerusalem Post.
The assessment was made by the Ministry of Immigration and Absorption, which requested a larger budget due to the Israeli rescue operation.
The ministry declined to comment on the figure, but said that "the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption is prepared for emergency and emergency immigration of Ukrainian Jews, and in view of the escalation in Ukraine, the ministry headed by Minister Temano Sheta is conducting all sectors to help and absorb any Jew seeking to immigrate."
In view of the significant increase in requests for immigration from Ukraine and the security situation in the region, Minister of Immigration and Absorption Pnina Temano-Shta agreed with the Minister of Finance to provide additional budgets unique to Bezeq's immigration from Ukraine.
The Ministry of Immigration and Absorption convened an emergency hearing last Thursday, during which the Minister instructed an inter-ministerial team to remove bureaucratic barriers to issuing immigration visas digitally, in light of a drastic increase in applications for immigration.
This, along with the reinforcement of personnel in the Absorption Division at Ben Gurion Airport and the cooperation with the Home Front Command and the factors for the absorption of immigrants.

The ministry called on Ukrainian Jews to immigrate to Israel - "Israel is your home," they said.
In 2021, more than 13,000 immigrants from all over Eastern Europe immigrated to Israel, mainly from Russia and Ukraine, so a rapid increase of about 10,000 from Ukraine in the coming weeks will be considered a record breaking of recent decades - since the great immigration from the former Soviet Union in the early 1990s.
As reported in the Jerusalem Post, the Ministry of Immigration and Absorption will offer immigrants from Ukraine between two weeks and a month, with the possibility of extension - in Israeli hotels and motels around the country, along with two daily hot meals provided by the state.
