Eurasburg advises household: From the dog to the marriage certificate

The Eurasburg municipal council discussed the 2022 budget.

Eurasburg – The Eurasburg municipal council saw little need for clarification when discussing the budget for 2022, which Treasurer Markus Gerold presented at the meeting last Tuesday evening.

Which did not really surprise the administrator of the municipal finances.

"Everything is actually known, and there are no big surprises," stated Gerold while going through the approximately 120 DIN A4 pages of figures with the committee.

The total budget for this year is 12,845,100 euros (622,100 euros more than last year).

The share of the administrative budget is 9,494,400 euros, the property budget is 3,350,700 euros.

Here and there it seemed necessary for the chamberlain to explain briefly what is behind the bare numbers.

For example, the expenditure item "equipment, equipment and utensils" for administrative facilities has increased continuously in recent years - this year to 44,500 euros.

According to Gerold, these do not result from purchases, but to a very considerable extent from the ongoing monthly costs for “47 different online services that the municipality has available for the citizens, from dog registration to marriage certificates.”

The cleaning costs for the fire brigade equipment houses in Beuerberg, Eurasburg and Herrnhausen have increased tenfold from 200 to 2000 euros each - simply because "there is now cleaning there every month".

The municipality recorded slight savings in the costs for the sports facility in Eurasburg and the soccer field in Vipiteno.

"The purchase of a tractor pays off," says Gerold.

"Lawn care isn't that expensive anymore." The treasurer again expects larger expenses for the renovation of municipal roads, for which he estimated 340,000 euros.

The same applies to the sewer network, which is budgeted at 378,500 euros.

On the income side, the apartments above the supermarket on Albert-von-Iring-Strasse acquired by the municipality are having a positive impact: the total rental income for the four residential units this year is 30,200 euros.

Taxes account for the largest share of municipal income.

While property tax A is 1,000 euros lower, property tax B has increased by 19,000 euros.

Around 170,000 euros more flow into the coffers in income tax, with trade tax the plus is 250,000 euros.

The district levy, i.e. the money that the municipality pays to the district, will increase to just over three million euros for 2022.

That is around half a million more than in the previous year.

Reaching into reserves is inevitable

In the planned investment measures, the largest item, namely EUR 633,500, relates to the “general real estate” area;

345,000 euros alone have been earmarked for the conversion of the group room in the Beuerberg kindergarten.

The investment costs for the drinking water supply add up to 615,000 euros, of which almost 400,000 euros goes into expansion measures for the St. Heinrich, Lengenwies and Waldhauserstraße water pipes.

For the first time, 310,000 euros are planned for the artificial turf pitch of the sports facility in Eurasburg, although the actual costs for this project have not yet been determined.

The total expenditure of the wealth budget is offset by income of only around 650,000 euros.

The shortfall becomes a withdrawal from the general reserve.

“We make large investments without steering into financial ruin.

We can be proud of that,” said Jakob Koch.

"And that despite property purchases worth millions," remarked Peter Goepfert.

The budget is expected to be decided at the next municipal council meeting, which will take place on March 22nd.
