In a question-and-answer post published by the embassy on Facebook, they explained that Russia takes into account "Israel's legitimate security concerns".

The Russian Embassy in Israel today (Sunday) published a question-and-answer post on Facebook in which it answered a number of issues related to the crisis that erupted after Russia's invasion of Ukraine last week.

In the shadow of the various disputes regarding the Israeli response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and due to the fear that the events may affect Israel's freedom of action in Syria and Lebanon, Russia has made it clear that "security coordination with Israel in Syria will continue."

As stated, in a post published by the Russian Embassy in Israel, the question was posed: "Is the mechanism for security coordination in Syria in danger?"

They replied: "This mechanism has been proven to be effective and will continue to work."

A response from the Russian embassy added: "We maintain close ties with our Israeli counterparts, both at the top level and at the level of foreign ministries. We do not want Syrian territory to be used for operations against Israel or anyone else. Our military officials are discussing its practical issues substantially. On a daily basis".

In another section, they also stressed that Russia takes into account "Israel's legitimate security concerns."

It should be noted that the post-answer post published today came after demonstrations that took place in Israel against the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The Russians further stressed that "our Israeli partners have all the relevant materials that can help them better understand our position. They include evidence of accusations that the government in Kiev and the Ukrainian army are committing war crimes and crimes against humanity that are directed against their people."

At the same time, the post noted that there is an understanding of Israel's situation in relation to the events between Russia and Ukraine and stressed that "Russia has taken note of Israel's position. The Israeli partners have reiterated their concerns for the security of its citizens and the Jewish community."

Meanwhile, the Russian embassy in Israel also referred to Prime Minister Bennett's proposal to mediate peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, saying that "Bennett suggested that Israel mediate to prevent hostility," but noted that the Russian delegation is now in Belarus in Gomel for talks with Ukraine".
