Al-Hamidiyah Police Department in Damascus has arrested people who use drugs and promote counterfeit dollars, and a person who has been stealing cars from the city of Damascus.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that SANA received a copy of it that as a result of the investigation by the Hamidiya Police Department in Damascus into an incident of theft that took place in one of the shops by negligence, the department was able to identify the perpetrator and arrest him, and by interrogating him, he confessed to stealing gold jewelry by neglecting the workshop in which he works in Jaramana area.
The ministry indicated that the arrested man admitted that he was promoting counterfeit dollars in conjunction with three other people, who were arrested and found in their possession of narcotic hashish and several counterfeit banknotes that were confiscated, and the stolen jewelry was recovered, and those arrested will be duly presented to the judiciary.
In another context, the ministry indicated that the aforementioned department was able to arrest a person involved in car theft after he was lured and monitored during his presence from the city of Daraa to the Al-Shaghour area in Damascus with the intention of stealing cars. Four keys for different types of cars “Rio, Renault, Suzuki Chang Hee and Saba” were found in his possession. With him, he confessed to stealing several cars from different regions in association with hidden people.
The ministry indicated that investigations are continuing with the arrested person until the arrest of the rest of the gang members.
