A Munich official took drugs for years and also sold them: Fritz F. has now been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for his role in the Munich police cocaine scandal.

But the processing is far from over.

Munich – He was in tears!

Police chief Fritz F. (28) bought cocaine from a dealer dozens of times, sometimes he also sold the drugs to his colleagues.

Now the officer must be in custody!

The Munich district court sentenced Fritz F. to two and a half years in prison.

It is the first prison sentence that has been imposed on a Munich police officer in the drug scandal.

According to the verdict, the police officer had purchased drugs in more than 50 cases between 2016 and 2017 and sold them to colleagues several times.

In addition, he had warned his dealer about investigations by the narcotics squad and was thus guilty of divulging official secrets.

Munich: Police officer has been shown to have bought cocaine from a dealer more than 50 times

Among other things, the indictment referred to 69 cases of acquisition, not all of which the court recognized as proven.

The public prosecutor's office also accused the police officer, who has since been suspended, of having had cocaine delivered to the police station and to the Oktoberfest duty.

Also because of such excesses, the judge accused the 28-year-old that he had “considerably shaken confidence in your profession”.

At the start of the trial in early February, the chief of police made a tearful confession - and confessed that the cocaine came from a dealer Hakan P. (name changed).

Ultimately, the dealer only triggered the police scandal with his statements: Because he named several police officers as customers.

The police then investigated a total of 31 Munich officials.

Confession in Munich: "I dealt with drugs uninhibitedly," admitted the police officer

Fritz F. was one of six police officers against whom charges had been brought.

"It was a combination of huge weakness and my somehow young age," said F. in court.

"I screwed up.

At the end of the trial, he cried bitterly again and said: "I was uninhibited and brazenly dealing with drugs.

My actions are incredibly embarrassing."

Prosecutor Jakob Schmidkonz had called for three years in prison in his plea.

The rule of law must "show its teeth" because of the special position of the police, said public prosecutor Jakob Schmidkonz - also because other defendants have so far only been given fines or suspended sentences.

But Fritz F. was one of the big fish in the police scandal.

Probation, as demanded by the defense, was no longer an option for him.

The drug scandal shook the police headquarters in Munich in 2020.

The public prosecutor's office conducted 39 investigations against 37 police officers.

15 proceedings were discontinued, according to spokeswoman Anne Leiding, a penal order was requested in twelve cases.

Last Tuesday, a 27-year-old police officer was fined for similar offenses.

But with Fritz F. the first official has to go to prison!
