Antonov: Washington's expulsion of 12 Russian diplomats is a hostile step against Moscow

The Russian ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, confirmed that the United States' expulsion of 12 Russian diplomats who are members of the Russian mission to the United Nations is a hostile step against Russia.

Russia Today website quoted Antonov as saying in a statement that "the US government has once again violated its obligations to ensure normal working conditions for the representative offices of foreign countries in the world organization, and Russian diplomats have received the blow again... This is a hostile attack against our country," noting that the actions of the US administration cause A feeling of deep disappointment and complete rejection.

Antonov added that Washington's actions are not aimed at softening the international situation and maintaining the necessary level of bilateral relations between the great powers that bear the responsibility for global peace and security in particular, reiterating that the Russian embassy expresses its solidarity with its colleagues and is ready to provide assistance.
