In the video: Prime Minister explains the humanitarian aid that Israel will send to Ukraine (Walla system!)
Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Kornichuk said today (Monday) at a briefing in Tel Aviv that Ukrainian President Zalansky was very happy that Prime Minister Bennett had taken the initiative and offered Russian President Vladimir Putin mediation between Russia and Ukraine.
Following the conversation between Putin and Bennett, National Security Adviser Eyal Hulta called the head of Zalanski's office, Andrei Yarmak, and updated him on the contents of the conversation.
The Ukrainian ambassador said Putin was not enthusiastic about Bennett's proposal to mediate between him and Zalansky.
"Now the Russians think we will surrender and agree to accept all the terms in the talks in Belarus," Kornichuk said.
"But later on (if the talks in Belarus get to a dead end, BER) it could be that Putin will return to Bennett on the matter of mediation," Kornichuk said.

He said Israeli mediation between Putin and Zalansky was something that Ukraine had been trying to promote throughout the past year, including during the period when Benjamin Netanyahu was prime minister.
"Netanyahu talked about it with Putin twice without success," the Ukrainian ambassador said.
"Netanyahu told us that he can mediate between two parties who want to reach an agreement but made it clear to us that he sees only one party who wants an agreement and that is Ukraine."
The ambassador noted that Israel had not expressed opposition or reservations about the Ukrainian initiative to recruit volunteers in Israel to fight against the Russians.
So far, many Israeli citizens have contacted the Ukrainian embassy to volunteer for the fighting.
The Ukrainian ambassador thanked Israel for the humanitarian aid it is sending to Ukraine but stressed that his country needs further aid.
