- How to explain the need to take a long trip after illness, accident or bereavement?

Christopher ANDRE.

This need is not systematic.

Faced with great adversity, some people will take more root in their daily lives to better enjoy it.

For others, it acts on the contrary as the signal that we must go ahead of what we have not yet accomplished.

Leaving then makes it possible to open a new sequence of life and to break with habits, what is colloquially called "comfort zone".

Does the trip act as therapy?

I would rather say as a consolation.

It does not remove evil, but turns away from what makes us suffer.

Multiplying the challenges and surpassing oneself, mentally and physically, are much more beneficial than a simple retreat.

Meetings contribute to this consolation by inspiring other ways of thinking and seeing the world.

Walking brings us back to the primitive, to the present moment.
