Unannounced carnival hustle and bustle in Indersdorf and Vierkirchen, plus unreported demonstrations by “walkers”: the Dachau police station had a busy weekend.

District – Numerous people met on Sunday in the Dachau region for spontaneous, unregistered carnival events.

There were illegal celebrations in Indersdorf and Vierkirchen.

Only in Petershausen was the carnival procession agreed with the district office and the police.

Carnival in Indersdorf: 500 people on the market square - police on duty

At around 1 p.m., the Dachau police were called to Indersdorf.

Around 500 people, often in carnival costumes, appeared at the market square, apparently holding a carnival party, says Dachau's police chief Thomas Rauscher.

Sometimes music could be heard and alcohol that had been brought along was consumed.

"People were standing very close to each other on the market square," said the police director.

There was a small move with five vehicles, including tractors.

The police asked the drivers of the cars to leave the market place, which they obeyed.

The police station in Dachau finally pulled together several patrol crews and began to break up the crowd shortly after 4 p.m. via loudspeaker announcement.

Furthermore, individual small groups were addressed personally.

Rauscher: "The people mostly behaved sensibly or obeyed the police orders." Around 4.35 p.m. the event finally ended and the place was empty.

Many bottles, cans and shards remained on the market square.

The police took some personal details from event participants in order to report administrative offenses.

In addition, the officials gave several unreasonable place references, which were followed.

Coercive measures did not have to be used.

To ensure safe processing, the passage through the market square was blocked for around 40 minutes.

By the way: everything from the region is also available in our regular Dachau newsletter.

Carnival celebrations in the Dachau hinterland: 200 people in Vierkirchen

There was also a carnival celebration in Vierkirchen.

Around 2 p.m., local residents reported this to the police.

Several patrol crews were dispatched.

Around 200 people had gathered in the Ganghofer Strasse area.

"Participants suggested that they would demonstrate against the Corona measures, analogous to the so-called walkers' meetings.

Others said they were taking to the streets because of the Russia-Ukraine crisis," said Dachau's police chief.

"But the event clearly had no meeting character," Rauscher continued.

Many participants were disguised, and some had handcarts with them.

The unregistered carnival event ended by itself.

Rauscher: “The police determined the personal details of one participant because the man may have held a managerial position.

An administrative offense report will be filed.”

Rauscher points out that small parades, such as on the Saturday of Carnival in Ainhofen, where families roamed through the town on foot, with small carts or converted ride-on lawn mowers, are not forbidden from the outset.

But: "If the event does not fit into the current infection protection ordinance, then we will dissolve it," said the police chief.

Meetings like those in Indersdorf and Vierkirchen are certainly not permitted.

"Celebrating in public places is prohibited," says Rauscher.

Petershausen: Carnival parade approved by the district office

The situation in Petershausen was different.

"We vaccinate a good mood" - under this motto, five brightly and wittily decorated tractors paraded through the village with loud music on Saturday.

The regular carnival parade, which traditionally takes place in Petershausen on Carnival Sunday, was canceled in November.

But the Petershausen Carnival Committee wanted at least to spread a little cheer in difficult times with this little tour.

The infantry disguised as "vaccination staff" distributed sweets to the children and vitamin injections with ACE juice - without alcohol, as Brigitte König from the carnival committee emphasizes.

"Everything went corona-compliant with FFP-2 masks and distance."

The campaign was agreed and approved with the district office and the police, which is why a police vehicle accompanied the mini carnival procession.

However, the Petershausen fools deliberately did not publicly announce their action in order to avoid large crowds.

The idea was very well received by the people of Petershausen, who followed the train more or less by chance.

Above all, families with children were among the spontaneous spectators, and citizens also waved from windows at the surprising parade.

"We've only had positive feedback," said König.

It was also nice for the active members of the carnival committee "to bring laughter and joy to their faces during the bad times".

The Petershausen Carnival Committee would like to thank the Dachau district office and the police for the extremely good cooperation.

Unannounced Corona demos in the Dachau district: "Walkers" on the move again

From 5 p.m. on Sunday, three unreported meetings of the “walkers” took place again.

In Markt Indersdorf, almost 160 people were walking through the town starting from the town hall.

About 120 participants gathered in Altomünster and 27 in Petershausen.

The three demonstrations passed without disruption.

There were no punishable violations of the infection protection regulations.

No demonstration leader could be identified.
