Russia closed its airspace to 36 countries that took similar measures against Russian aviation.
"In accordance with the rules of international law and in response to the ban imposed by European countries on the operation of civil aircraft flights of Russian air carriers, restrictions on the operation of flights were imposed by air carriers in 36 countries," the Russian Air Transport Agency said in a statement today.
The statement pointed out that the Russian restrictions include air carriers in Austria, Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, the British Virgin Islands, Britain, Hungary, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, France, Slovenia, Slovakia, Estonia, and Estonia. He explained that flights from these countries can be conducted with a special permit issued by the Air Transport Agency or the Russian Foreign Ministry.
