Occupied Jerusalem-SANA

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the UN Security Council to stop the policy of double standards, respect UN resolutions on the Palestinian issue, and put pressure on the Israeli occupation to force it to stop its ongoing violations and crimes.

In a statement today, reported by Wafa Agency, the ministry condemned in the strongest terms the settlers’ terrorist attacks on Palestinian towns and villages under the protection of the occupation forces, the most recent of which was their attack with stones on Palestinian vehicles on the Jenin-Nablus road and their storming of the archaeological site in the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus.

The Ministry called on the Permanent Commission of Inquiry emanating from the Human Rights Council to continue its work in following up and holding the occupation accountable for its crimes, violations and grave breaches of international law and international humanitarian law.

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki stressed, during today's speech before the 49th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, that the international community's double standards encourage the Israeli occupation to continue its crimes against the Palestinian people, calling for the application of the rules of international and humanitarian law and holding the occupation accountable for its violations.
