Bad incident in Bayreuth: Witnesses found two cats in an airtight package.
The animals fought for their lives and were immediately taken to a veterinarian.
Bayreuth - The Upper Franconian police are dealing with a case of animal cruelty.
Witnesses found two cats in an airtight package at the southern cemetery in Bayreuth on Sunday, investigators said on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said the animals looked terrified and were fighting for their lives.

They couldn't have been in the package too long, otherwise they would have suffocated.
After the find, the cats were quickly taken to a veterinarian.
According to the information, they were still in mortal danger on Tuesday, even if their condition had improved.
The police are investigating violations of the Animal Welfare Act and are hoping for witnesses.

The cats were taken to the vet immediately.
"We are shocked and deeply saddened by what these poor cats have had to go through, as this condition doesn't happen in a few weeks, it takes months," it said
