This “inclusive” schooling policy for children with disabilities has been implemented since a 2005 law in France.

The government of Emmanuel Macron, through the voice of the State Secretariat for People with Disabilities, entrusted to Sophie Cluzel, wished to intensify this "inclusive school".

The inclusive school budget, increased by 250 million euros in 2021, now amounts to 3.3 billion euros, an increase of more than 60% since 2017, according to Sophie Cluzel's cabinet.
