Farewell to Corona rules: Mallorca is canceling almost all measures

Tourists and locals hardly have to observe the Corona rules in Mallorca.

Mallorca is one of the most popular holiday destinations for Germans.
Now a trip there should be even more attractive - because almost all Corona rules are no longer applicable.
The Balearic government overturns almost all other Corona provisions on Mallorca * and the other islands of Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera.
The easing will apply from March 1st with the publication in the Official Journal.

Only a few rules remain in place: On the one hand, the
mask requirement indoors
, on the other hand, the
smoking ban in the outdoor areas of restaurants
.
The Mallorca Zeitung
reports that smoking should still not be allowed on the open street if a minimum distance of two meters from other people is not possible
.
However, all other restrictions affecting nightlife and cultural and sporting events should be lifted.
Many corona measures have already been abolished in the Balearic Islands in recent weeks - there has been no 3G requirement for access to restaurants or fitness studios since February 12th.

Corona incidence on the Balearic Islands and in Spain has fallen massively
According to the Mallorca Zeitung
, government spokesman Iago Negueruela justified the end of the corona restrictions
with the
positive development in the number of infections and the high vaccination rate
.
In the Balearic Islands, the 7-day incidence was 204, as reported by the German Press Agency, a month ago this value was more than 1,400.
In all of Spain, the 7-day incidence is 244. In Germany, it is a
lot higher with a value of 1,213 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants (as of March 1,
RKI ).

Despite the easing, the Balearic government continues to recommend that the population be vaccinated or boosted.
In addition, a mask should continue to be worn outdoors if it is not possible to keep a distance.
Leisure activities should also take place outside if possible.
