Kaufering – Although the Red Hocks Kaufering had fought back brilliantly after a false start in Chemnitz, they ended up empty-handed.

The Floor Fighters pulled away up to 9:4.

While the Kauferinger, as the penultimate table, are currently once again fighting against relegation, the Floor Fighters Chemnitz, fifth in the table before the game, is about the playoffs.

The top four teams in the league qualify for the championship games.

The first leg had already shown that, despite the different starting positions, it would not be a sure-fire success for the Saxons: With a 4:5 win, the Chemnitz team were only just able to steal the points from Bavaria.

The Red Hocks traveled to the east with head coach Markus Heinzelmann all the more ambitious.

However, the Kauferinger were slowed down early by two goals in the fourth and seventh minute of the game.

It took a while for the guests from Lech to find their way into the game, but technically and tactically it was difficult.

After all: After a foul on Jonas Fellner, top scorer Ricardo Wipfler, who was playing his last game for the time being, was allowed to take the penalty and converted confidently.

But by the third break, Chemnitz restored the old lead.

Kaufering made a tactical change in the third break – the immense rotation in the Chemnitz game should be better defended.

Bayern went into the second third, determined to start catching up, but there was an early setback here too.

Right from the start, the Floor Fighters extended their lead to 5:1.

Then came the best phase in the guests' game: In the 28th minute, Moritz Billes reduced the deficit to 5:2 with a backhand.

Kaufering now convinced with playfulness and Jonas Fellner scored in the 34th minute after a nice combination and submission by the Swiss Jan Küchli.

With what was probably the most remarkable goal of the day, Kaufering even came up to 4:5: After his own shot was blocked, Jonas Fellner took full risk and hit the ball with a backhand volley into the far corner.

No penetration

Right on time for the final third, the Kauferinger Reds were back and wanted to change the score.

But there was also a third cold shower: After only 26 seconds, Chemnitz advanced to 6:4 after a counterattack.

Although goalkeeper David Winzinger was able to distinguish himself with several worthwhile saves, Kauferinger did not come back into the game.

The penetrating power was lacking again and again and so Chemnitz pulled away to 9:4 in the end.

“Today we slept through the beginning, but fought our way back bravely.

Ultimately, we also lacked the callousness in the end”, head coach Markus Heinzelmann looks back on an overall mixed game.

In the next game, however, it shouldn't get any easier, because on Saturday, March 12, the German record champions UHC Weißenfels will come to the Kaufering sports center.

So the Red Hocks have two weeks to work on the construction sites and then pick up the upswing of the weeks before.
