Retired Superintendent Nisso Shaham, who was convicted of fraud, breach of trust and sexual harassment, entered Hermon Prison today (Tuesday) and will serve ten months of actual imprisonment and five months probation.
Shaham, the court ruled, had relationships with eight junior policewomen, and then made various decisions in their case.
The judge who convicted him, Shmuel Melamed, explained that according to his method, although Shaham was convicted of only one breach of trust, it should be taken into account that these are eight different cases, which were included under the same charge.

The Shaham affair went through several incarnations.
In April 2018, he was convicted of an indecent act on a policewoman who kissed, but was acquitted of breach of trust.
Only after the prosecution appealed his acquittal was he also convicted of sexual harassment and breach of trust.
The case was returned to the Magistrate's Court for sentencing, when in February 2020 it was decided to impose on Shaham ten months of actual imprisonment and payment of compensation to some of the policewomen with whom he has a relationship.
Three months ago, the Jerusalem Supreme Court rejected Shaham's appeal.
The judges ruled that Shaham's sentence would remain ten months 'actual imprisonment and five months' probation.
