Ruble low: Asus prevents Israelis from buying in Russian currency Israel today

2022-03-01T21:18:36.566Z

Many consumers tend to mark that they surf from Turkey and thus get a 30% discount • Members of the Facebook groups of fans of the British shopping site noticed the change in conditions, and wrote that Asus removed the option to order in rubles

Against the background of the low value of the ruble, Asus blocked the Israeli consumer from ordering items priced in Russian currency.

This is a "method" by which Israeli customers usually mark with Asus that they are surfing from Turkey and buy in rubles, in order to obtain a price lower than the price of the same product offered to Israelis, sometimes by 30% -20%.

Members of the Facebook groups of fans of the British shopping site noticed a change in conditions, and wrote that Asus had removed the option to order in rubles.

Benny Buchnik, manager of the Facebook group for online shopping: "The issue of currency changes has been happening recently. In the case of Asus, Israelis have so far been able to choose Turkey as a country, choose the ruble currency as an option to pay and ship to Israel."

According to Buchnik, "In my opinion, the reason for this is related to changes in the value of the currency. Its volatility is extreme, so they are defending themselves."

Buchnik says that the fashion website Shane also blocked the payment through Turkey for Israelis about two months ago.

He says he does not know for sure if Asus was aware of the Israeli trick, but he assumes so.

"When it was in small numbers, the system did not recognize it. But when orders in this method soared - the system closed that option."
