Sigalit Shabi (52) has been an English teacher, coordinator and educator at ORT Oren High School in Afula for many years.
16 years ago Blue was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease, and after her condition has worsened in the last six months, she needs to undergo a kidney transplant urgently and is looking for a donor.
Now her students from all the years have joined to help her.
Sigalit, whose family members were not found suitable to donate a kidney to, shared her condition: "I do everything to continue my life as usual, but it is getting harder by the day. I do not have much time left."
These things have not left her students indifferent over the years, and have led to the mobilization of hundreds of them, who are trying to find a donor.
Afik Shimon, 29, whose teacher Sigalit was 16 years ago, said: "We were the first students she educated at the Oren school in Afula. She is a very special woman, she was always like a mother and fought for us. When we heard about her situation, we decided to enlist and find a donor."
Shimon explains: "We spread the awareness of finding a donor and call on as many people as possible to be tested and we too have been tested, we have a group where we update and hold zoom conversations about the progress of the struggle. Faster. "
