24 staff members of the "Tong Le Ju" under the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children were suspected of child abuse. The city court went to court, and the prosecution's application did not require a reply, and the case was adjourned to April 25 for retrial.
The two defendants were released on 10,000 yuan bail pending arraignment.
Two female defendants: Chen Aiying (23 years old) and Lu Miner (53 years old), each facing one count of assault against a child or juvenile in their custody, alleging that the two were charged on December 2 and 19, 2021 respectively , a person over 16 years of age who has custody, care or care for a child or young person of 2 years of age, namely Boys E, B, within the Children's Play House, G/F, 387 Portland Street, Mongkok, Kowloon, Hong Kong, Deliberately attacking the boy in a manner likely to cause the boy B to suffer needlessly.
The prosecution did not object to the defendant's bail application. The magistrate granted each person a bail of 10,000 yuan, but they were not allowed to leave Hong Kong during the period. They lived at the reported address and had to report to the police station twice a week. Location and contact with Tongleju staff and children shall not be involved in any work involving child care.
A total of 26 people have been arrested in the case so far, involving 40 children.
Police said they had completed viewing more than 60,000 hours of CCTV footage and could not rule out further arrests.
