On numerous occasions, the defendant, together with another employee of the company, Yelena Krochnok, systematically acted with the aim of stealing large sums of money from the elderly, while using substances that have a sedative effect on those elderly people in order to facilitate the commission of the offenses.

Defendant Vilna used to come to the nursing home when Yelena knocked on their door, introduced herself as someone who wanted to measure their blood pressure and then handed them sleeping pills under the false pretense that these were blood pressure lowering pills.

Subsequently, after the elderly were in a state of obfuscation, the defendant also entered the apartment and together they searched for cash that was stolen from the elderly as well as credit cards through which they withdrew money from the elderly's account.

At the conclusion of the evidentiary proceedings, Beitz was convicted of five of the nine charges that appeared in the indictment.
