An online petition has now been started to keep the hospitals in Schongau and Weilheim.
Handwritten signatures should also be collected.
Schongau – The Pro-Hospital Schongau action alliance, which was founded in November, continues to campaign for the preservation of the two clinics in Schongau and Weilheim – a new central hospital in the district is to be prevented.
Now the group has under the motto "Hands off!
An online petition was started by the inpatient and emergency care of our hospitals in Schongau and Weilheim.
Preserving the location is particularly important in rural areas in order to ensure that the residents receive comprehensive, emergency medical and inpatient care close to their homes, according to the petition, which also summarizes in eight different points what fears one has with a merger “on the green field “ and what are the arguments for keeping both hospitals.
The action alliance has also previously set out the arguments to a large extent in open letters.
Information event at Marienplatz
The petition went online on Monday, explains Stefan Konrad, one of the group's spokespersons.
Almost 300 signatures had already been collected by Tuesday afternoon.
It was expected that there would be a big push at the beginning.
However, it is important that it does not stop at this one peak, says Konrad.
The aim of the action alliance is to have 2,000 signatures by May.
People who are not internet savvy should also be given the opportunity to take part in the petition.
On Friday, March 4th, the action alliance invites you to an information event at Schongau's Marienplatz from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Lists are designed for those who prefer to sign by hand instead of online.
It is also planned to lay out lists in shops.
At the information event, the pro-hospital action alliance wants to present the petition to the public and also get into conversation with citizens.
"It's not like you can't talk to us," says Konrad.
However, with its decision, the district council created facts about which it, as a citizen and city councillor, could not celebrate.
"I want to do everything to ensure that the Schongau location is preserved."
The petition goes to the district council of Weilheim-Schongau and the supervisory board of the hospital GmbH, as well as to Klaus Holetschek (Bavarian Minister of State for Health and Care) and Karl Lauterbach (Federal Minister of Health).
The petition can be found online here.
Lists are also available at the information stand on Schongau's Marienplatz on Friday.
