Recruiting mercenaries, odd prospects, and hired killers has become a political approach for the West to become accustomed to, as they began arriving in Ukraine to fight Russian forces, according to what the American Vice magazine revealed, after the nationalists in Kyiv announced the formation of a legion of foreign mercenaries willing to come from all over the world.
The magazine indicated that the first to join the ranks of the mercenaries was a former British soldier, who refused to be named for security reasons, calling himself "Luke", who arrived at the nearest border checkpoint of the border guards in western Ukraine.
"I've reached out to some people and hopefully I can use my skills in air defense," Locke said.
The American magazine explained that Locke's trip took only a few hours to reach the Ukrainian border, which indicates the ease of access for mercenaries to participate in combat operations after NATO countries and other governments sent weapons to Ukraine.
The operations of assembling mercenaries began from several countries, such as the United States and Canada, and it is expected that their numbers will increase, as many of them expressed their desire to participate in the fighting in Ukraine after presenting their military expertise on one of the relevant websites and knowing ways to reach the Ukrainian borders.
In this regard, experts expressed their concern that Ukraine would become an international war front for mercenaries, as it is no secret that most Western countries send intelligence elements among these mercenaries to implement the agendas of their security services.
Two days ago, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Irina Venediktova, revealed special procedures for releasing prisoners to be used to participate in the fight against Russian forces, after Kyiv announced the formation of the Foreign Mercenary Corps.
