Air France: your canceled tickets may no longer be refunded

2022-03-02T10:55:10.776Z

The airline abandoned this Tuesday, March 1 the total flexibility, implemented due to the Covid crisis.

The "100% refundable" tickets, it's over, make way for the "100% modifiable" tickets.

Like most airlines, Air France is tightening its exchange and cancellation policy after repeatedly extending its full flexibility measures.

But it does not return to conditions as strict as before Covid.

It must be said that the travellers, accustomed for two years to being able to have their ticket reimbursed until the last moment, would have resented a too brutal back-pedalling.

Trips booked

since March 1, 2022

can always be postponed before the date of the first departure of the flight without change fees, regardless of the fare chosen, as detailed by the company on its website.

If the price of the new ticket is higher, you will have to pay the fare difference.

What changes are the cancellation conditions: if you cancel your trip, you will no longer be refunded to your bank account but will obtain a

non-refundable

credit note valid for one year from its date of issue, to be used to book a new flight.

This applies to tickets purchased at Light and Standard fares.

Only the Flex fare still entitles you to a refund.

At Transavia, postponement is always possible free of charge

Requests to exchange or cancel tickets purchased online can be made from the “My Bookings” page of the Air France website or app, at an Air France ticket office or by filling out a form.

If you wish to request a refund for a ticket purchased from a travel agency, please contact them first,

” the company recalls on its website.

Tickets purchased

before March 1, 2022 for travel up to and including June 30, 2022

continue to enjoy full flexibility.

They can always be canceled and refunded free of charge until the time of departure.

If you cancel, you receive a credit note which you can request for reimbursement for one year from its date of issue.

On the side of

Transavia

, there is no change.

The low-cost subsidiary of Air France continues to offer the postponement of the trip without change fees, provided that the request is made no later than two hours before the flight.

Only the possible fare difference between the old and the new ticket remains the responsibility of the passenger.
