The four officials of the anti-crime brigade (BAC) will be tried on April 22 for acts of aggravated violence by a person holding public authority, in a meeting, with the use or threat of a weapon, according to the Evry prosecution requested by the AFP.

They are being prosecuted precisely for having committed violence against Sofiane, in particular by kicking the legs, punching the face and hitting the thigh with a truncheon, said a source close to the case.

Surrounded, knocked down, hit repeatedly

The case dates back to March 24, 2020, at the start of the first confinement, in the city of Les Ulis, in Essonne.

In a video shared on social networks, the young man, surrounded by several agents of the BAC (Anti-Crime Squad), is knocked down and beaten repeatedly then brought under the porch of a building from which escape his shrill cries.

This young man, aged 21 and a logistics agent at Amazon at the time of the events, had immediately filed a complaint and had been prescribed four days of total incapacity for work (ITT).

I am satisfied that after nearly two years of investigation the Evry prosecution has decided to dismiss these police officers

”, reacted to AFP his lawyer, Me Samim Bolaky.

Sofane will fight to the end to denounce her fate and more generally that of all victims of police violence,

” he added.

According to another source, these police officers are still on duty in the department.
